If you would simply open any pgn file instead that contains chess games then you will not be able to delete or edit any games because your pgn files are classified read-only and cannot be changed. You need this new database to import (copy) your pgn games into it later on. (example: ModernDatabase) See image below. Click on FILE/NEW and give your database a name that you like. You have to start from scratch and create a new database. It will create an icon on your PC as shown below.
